Makeup Artistry for Film & Television Industry

DESCRIPTION

Learn to make magic with the stroke of a brush and take the master class in makeup and beauty with the Hydro makeup artistry full-time course.

A makeup artist’s medium is the human body, and in this exciting course we learn all about applying makeup and prosthetics for theatrical, TV, film, fashion, magazine shoots and other similar productions including all aspects of the fashion and film industry.

Course Content
Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is the most common type of massage at the spa. It is based on western concepts of anatomy and physiology as opposed to energy work. It can be slow and gentle, or vigorous and bracing.
Indian Head Massage
Indian head massage is the timeless and relaxing technique of manipulating soft tissues in the shoulders and scalp. The therapist is trained to use a range of different massage pressures.
Hot Stone Massage
Hot stone massage is a deeply relaxing massage that combines the penetrating effect of hot stones with the soothing effect of a manual massage.
Infant Massage
The infants massage course is designed to teach the theory and practice of baby massage therapy. Infant or paediatric massage refers to the process of stroking the muscles of infants using a variety of specialised massage techniques. Vocalisation, eye-to-eye contact, and other positive behavioural reinforcements are also important components of this massage.
African Calabash Massage
The African Calabash massage uses various shapes and sizes of calabash as a natural and effective massage tool, providing a deeper dimension to massage by improving circulation and lymph drainage.
Bamboo Massage
Bamboo Massage is a unique way of providing a deep-tissue massage with the use of heated bamboos to roll and knead the tissues, creating an extreme sensation of deep relaxation.
Nail Technology
A nail-care technician focuses on creating beautiful fingernails and toenails for clients by performing gel, silk, acrylic, and fiber procedures.
Eyelash Extensions
Eyelash extensions are aesthetic enhancements designed to add length, thickness and fullness to natural eyelashes.
Makeup
The art of applying makeup to a client. This module will include day, evening, bridal and fashion makeup application.
Brow Tinting and Shaping
Tinting and shaping creates a very natural and flattering look. Eyebrow tinting helps eliminate the use of pencils to create an even shape and eyelash tinting adds colour, length, and definition, making it unnecessary to wear mascara.
Manual Facial
A facial is a procedure involving a variety of skin treatments, including: steam, exfoliation, extractions, specialised treatment products and massage.
Waxing
Learn the best techniques in temporary hair removal using various types of wax products and tools.
Manicures
This popular cosmetic treatment of the hands involves shaping and often the painting of the nails, as well cuticle removal.
Pedicure
Learn to perform the perfect pedicure which includes cuticle work, nail shaping and, filing and buffing and colour application.
Fundamental Theory
Our focus is on underpinning the principles and knowledge behind the beauty business. This includes business management and knowledge of commerce focusing on small to medium spa or salon businesses.

DESCRIPTION

Full-Time Beauty Consultation

DESCRIPTION

Beauty consultants work in the cosmetics retail industry. They help customers to choose the right beauty products to make the most of their personal appearance and to suit their age, skin type and lifestyle. You can work independently, self-employed in either a mobile or in home based settings.

This one year course is designed for professionals with ambitions to work in the beauty industry, or people with a general interest in make-up artistry.

The course covers communication skills, sales, retailing, merchandising, displaying and control of stock, entrepreneurship, skincare, make up application and instruction and health and safety.
