Your wedding is possibly the most photographed day of your life, so making sure you are looking your best is very important.  Our team of PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP ARTISTS has summarised some makeup tips for your special day.

Take the season into Consideration

A bride should choose a foundation according to the elements she will be exposed to on the day. If it is winter and very dry avoid matte foundations as they can make your skin look very dry and dull. In summer due to the high temperatures opt for a foundation that’s not very shimmery and shiny. For summer brides, we suggest prepping the skin with an anti-shine water-resistant primer and using a full-coverage foundation. In general, choose foundations that are long-stay as you want your makeup to look great for the entire wedding day.

Choose a Lipstick You Feel Comfortable In

Lipstick is very important to complete your look, choose a lipstick that is more natural, and make sure you find a long-stay option. The choice of matte or not is purely a personal preference and the overall look you want to achieve; however, matte lipstick has a long-lasting effect and requires less maintenance.

Have a Makeup Trial

Most PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP ARTISTS will offer a bridal trial separate from the wedding day. The trial is so important. Both for the makeup artist and for you. Having the chance to try different looks means that on the day you are going to be feeling confident and happy in the knowledge that the look you are wearing is right for you and is going to last.

Use Waterproof Products

Waterproof everything! And if you tear up, try to have a beauty blender on-hand to blot. This will allow you to press the product into the skin instead of leaving streaks or wiping the product away.

Find Balance in Your Look

If you’re going for a smokey look, opt for a natural color on the lips. If you choose bold lips, go light on the eye makeup.

Keep a Few Products on On-Hand Throughout the Day

Make sure that you have your lipstick on hand to touch up as well as translucent powder or blotting papers to reduce shine and allow for beautiful pictures.

Make Sure Your Foundation Is a Perfect Match

Your foundation should be as close to your natural skin tone as possible, as well as the tone of your neck. You will be photographed nonstop that day and the last thing you want is for your face and neck to not match.
